Christmas from Cambridge

Christmas in Cambridge: Concert Poster 3, 2010

Our final concert for 2010, Christmas from Cambridge, combined sublime choral music and favourite carols, evoking the atmosphere of traditional Cambridge Carol services.

In the exquisite setting and acoustic of St Patrick's Basilica in Fremantle, the choir, directed by Cambridge Alumnus Jonathan Paxman presented a selection of modern English carol settings, including many pieces featured in the traditional Nine Lessons and Carols services of King's and St John's Colleges in Cambridge. The concert also featured works by John Tavener, Herbert Howells and Boris Ord; and Benjamin Britten's extraordinary cantata "Rejoice in the Lamb".
